OUR SAFETY POLICY
We are dedicated to safety on all the sessions we run. We adhere to Health and Safety regulations set out by the UK government and to safety guidance given by National Governing Bodies (NGBs).
All our staff are qualified to deliver the activities, including First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications. Staff complete an induction prior to working with us which includes reading risk assessments and our operating procedures. We offer ongoing training to staff to ensure all sessions are run to the safest possible standard.
Our activities are risk assessed and reviewed annually, and staff are competent at dynamically risk assessing the environment prior to and during sessions. We work within different ratios for each activity as set out by British Canoeing, and in the environmental remit as directed by each member of staff’s individual qualifications.
Our equipment conforms to British standards and is checked daily to ensure it is suitable for the task, and we endeavour to keep all kit clean and sanitised. We record all inventory and ensure that all equipment is used is within its recommended lifespan.
We are fully insured for all activities and ask for medical information that may impact on the ability of guests to be disclosed to ensure safety during sessions. Any information disclosed is confidential under GDPR guidance.
